Governor Schwarzenegger Shots For School

About Us

Governor Schwarzenegger launched the School Finder Web site as a portal to connect California’s students and parents to our state’s educational resources, initiatives and information.

The joint efforts of the Governor’s Office of the Secretary of Education, the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the California Department of Education in developing this portal will provide Californians with public education policy updates and links to important information about education in the Golden State.

One of the main features of this Web site is the SchoolFinder application, which helps parents locate schools near their homes, compare school performance and financial data and select the best schools for their children. In addition, the State is working to develop a forum for parents, teachers and students to provide feedback regarding their schools.

Data found on this site comes directly from the California Department of Education and is updated periodically.

Information provided on this site includes:

  • Academic Performance
  • Academic Performance
  • Student Enrollment
  • Students per Teacher
  • Graduation Rate
  • Drop-out Rate
  • Average Expenditure per Student for District

  • And much, much more

Governor Schwarzenegger's commitment to making school data more readily available and a public/private partnership between state agencies and Microsoft Corporation and Google, Inc. led to the creation of this Web site.
