About Us
Governor Schwarzenegger launched the School Finder Web site as a portal to connect
California’s students and parents to our state’s educational resources, initiatives
and information.
The joint efforts of the Governor’s Office of the Secretary of Education, the Office
of the Chief Information Officer and the California Department of Education in developing
this portal will provide Californians with public education policy updates and links
to important information about education in the Golden State.
One of the main features of this Web site is the SchoolFinder application, which
helps parents locate schools near their homes, compare school performance and financial
data and select the best schools for their children. In addition, the State is working
to develop a forum for parents, teachers and students to provide feedback regarding
their schools.
Data found on this site comes directly from the California Department of Education
and is updated periodically.
